If someone needs help now

Call 999 if someone is in immediate danger. Otherwise contact your school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead or the appropriate local safeguarding service. Do not wait for an app response.

NeuroPathway and Safe Space are not emergency services. Journals and observations are not a staffed reporting channel; automated alerts and round-the-clock monitoring are not provided.

Official codes of practice and downloads

Official publications checked on 7 October 2026. These are reference documents, not adopted NeuroPathway policies.

  • SEND Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years

January 2015 statutory guidance. Paragraph 9.14 addresses evidence for an EHC needs assessment; chapter 6 covers SEN Support.

  • Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026

Multi-agency safeguarding guidance. Review applicability and local safeguarding procedures; downloading it does not adopt a policy.

  • Children’s Code — introduction for small businesses

ICO introductory guide, not the complete statutory code. Review the full code on the official ICO website.

  • SEND Regulations 2014 — original instrument

Original as-made legislation, not a consolidated current version. Check amendments and the latest text on legislation.gov.uk.

Outstanding organisation policies

Approval or supporting evidence is still required for these items. Legal and specialist review may be needed.

  • Privacy notice and data protection

Confirm controller, lawful bases and special-category condition, processors/transfers, retention, deletion, access requests and complaints. Complete a data protection impact assessment and children’s privacy assessment.

  • Consent, child assent and sharing

Approve age-appropriate participant information, consent/assent arrangements, withdrawal and granular sharing permissions. Do not automatically share journals.

  • Information security and incident response

Approve access reviews, staff responsibilities, secure uploads, breach handling, backup/recovery, retention schedules and incident reporting.

  • AI and evidence governance

Approve permitted data use, provider safeguards, evidence provenance, factual/interpretation separation, human review, bias checks and correction procedures.

  • Service terms and complaints

Approve eligibility, service limits, account closure, complaints and responsibilities; do not promise an EHCP outcome or absolute confidentiality.

  • Research and pilot governance

Confirm whether research approvals are required; agree sponsor, participant information, evaluation, safeguarding, publication permissions and stop procedures. Arden documents are references, not approval.

  • Accessibility and safer working

Document accessibility testing and reasonable adjustments; approve recruitment/training arrangements where roles require them. School-specific statutory duties must not be assumed to apply to the app operator.

  • Digital and clinical safety applicability

Obtain appropriate advice on DTAC and DCB0129/DCB0160 applicability, named owners and hazard/incident records before clinical deployment. No completed assurance is claimed.
