Safeguarding
Last updated 7 October 2026. This is a draft for review and does not certify legal compliance.
If someone needs help now
- Immediate danger: call 999.
- Childline (free, for young people): 0800 1111.
- Samaritans (any age, any time): 116 123.
- Worried about a child: tell the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead or your local children's services.
What the app does and does not do
- Nobody monitors journals or observations, and the app sends no alerts.
- Safe Space shows support messages and helplines when an entry suggests someone is struggling, but it cannot contact anyone itself.
- Adults can raise a concern in the safeguarding queue. Administrators, and SENCO, CAMHS or GP staff a parent has shared with, can record decisions. Every decision is kept and cannot be edited.
How adults should respond
Listen without leading questions, record the facts and the person's own words, never promise to keep a secret, and pass the concern on promptly. Do not investigate yourself.
Safeguarding lead
The supplied safeguarding policy names Tanja Hanson as safeguarding lead.
Still to be confirmed: confirmation that the Social Innovation CIC safeguarding policy covers NeuroPathway and Safe Space; a deputy safeguarding lead; a safeguarding contact phone number and the hours it is staffed.
